    Both character showed and incredible example of individualism. Not only did they go against what society said but they were willing to risk everything for what is right. Huck almost gave up on Jim but realized that it was immoral. Fredrick almost gave up on escaping and alomost accepted the fact that he was a slave but never gave up. Neither of them were going to let some stupid thing that society says determine how they live their lives.
