Goya marries Josefa Bayeu. -
Portraits
Goya´s tapestry-design paintings start getting noticed. His soon asked to do portraits for important people, including the Spanish king and his family. -
Charles IV
King Charles IV appoints Goya court painter. -
Cádiz
Francisco spends time in Cádiz while recovering from a mysterious disease. After recovering,some of his paintings take on a new look. -

When the French army invades Spain, Goya creates some of his greatest works showing the horrors of war. -
Terrifying pictures
Goya buys a large country near Madrid, He paints terrifying pictures on the walls of his house for his own enjoyment. -
Bordeaux
Francisco retires to the French city of Bordeaux. He concentrates more on miniature paintings, drawings and prints. -
Death
Goya dies at his home in Bordeaux at the age of eighty two.
