The Murder of Emmett Till
Emmett Till was murdered for flirting with a white woman at a store in Money, Mississippi at the age of 14. The woman's husband and brother had Till carry a cotton-gin to the Tallahatchie River and made him strip off his clothes, and killed him.

Martin Luther King Jr. stands up for civil rights
On December 1, 1955 Martin Luther King Jr. led the Montgomery bus Boycott. This specific boycott was a major turning point in the civil rights movement. -
The Suez Crisis
The Suez Canal was nationalized by Egypt in July of 1956. The Israelis disagreed to Egypt having full control of the canal. British and French forces were sent in to help the Israelis and the USSR stood behind Egypt. This ruined the relationship between the U.S. and USSR and eventually the British, French, and Israelis withdrew their troops.

Berlin Wall
The ability to travel between East and West Berlin was restricted and the Germans began to build the Berlin Wall. This wall represented the "Iron Curtain" that defined the struggle of the Cold War that divided Europe and the decision between democracy and communism.

The Cuban Missile Crisis
This Crisis consisted of the USSR and the U.S. having a 13 day standoff in order to determine the access of Cuba to the USSR and the unauthorized production of nuclear missiles that were a direct threat to the U.S. JFK created a blockade around Cuba that would prevent the Soviets to import any further materials. Woodstock was a Music and Art Festival that took place in Bethel, NY. The purpose of this festival was to have 3 days of peace, love, and music. Over 100,000 people attended this festival and set up camp.

Jimmy Carter and the Iran hostages Crisis
A group of Iranian students ambushed the U.S Embassy located in Tehran. They took more than 60 American hostages. This was a way for the students to declare a break with Iran's past and an end to American interference in its affairs. The hostages were released on January 21, 1981 hours after President Ronald Reagan delivered his inaugural address.

The Fall of the Berlin Fall
After 28 years the spokesman for East Berlin's Communist Part announced a change in city's relations with the Western part of Berlin. Berliners flooded check points and all went to the wall. They used hammers and picks to knock down parts of the wall.
