He was an United States Senator and short after winning the California and South Dakota elections for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, Kennedy was shot as he walked through the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel and died 26 hours later.

The process first go from HIV which the virus is attacking your immune system, then the later effect is AIDS when your immune system is already damaged and cannot be repaired.
