The party’s original purpose was to patrol African American neighborhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality.

Mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the lunar module Eagle. In the movie it shows the moon landing

    The Hurricane destroyed all the strip boats except for Forrest's. Hurricane Carmen was the most intense tropical cyclone of the 1974 Atlantic hurricane season. A destructive and widespread storm, Carmen originated as a tropical disturbance that emerged from Africa toward the end of August. In the movie Forrest and Lt. Dan get caught up in Hurricane Carmen.

    Forest Invests in a "fruit company" which is acutally the Apple Company. Wayne, Jobs, and Wozniak founded Apple Computer on April 1, 1976. Serving as the Apple’s adult supervision, Wayne drew the first Apple logo, wrote the three men’s original partnership agreement, and wrote the Apple I manual.
