The battle was very bloody and sparked a lot of protest in the United States. Many people opposed the war since it was televised. The biggest movement is when they created a human barricade in front of the pentagon. This era ended in the 1970s. They opposed the Vietnam War.   • Alabama Desegregation

    Alabama Desegregation
    In June 10, 1963, President John F. Kennedy federalized National Guard troops and deployed them to the University of Alabama to force its desegregation. The next day, Governor Wallace yielded to the federal pressure, and two African American students-Vivian Malone and James A.Hood-successfully enrolled.
    In Forrest Gump, Forrest was there watching Wallace trying to stop the students from entering.

    President Kennedy went to the Dallas Texas because he was going around to states because he wanted to gain support from the people. So at Dallas when he was in the presidential motorcade Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy in the neck, and in the head. He died which was a huge impact in America. They were caught and this led the President Nixon resigning. They stole important documents, and listened in on phone lines.     Hurricane Carmen was the most intense tropical cyclone of the 1974 Atlantic hurricane season. A destructive and widespread storm, Carmen originated as a tropical disturbance that emerged from Africa toward the end of August. It hit southern US really bad.     The AIDS epidemic, caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), found its way to the United States as early as 1960, but was first noticed after doctors discovered clusters of Kaposi's sarcoma and pneumocystis pneumonia in young gay men in Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco in 1981.
