    This was program meant to give unmarried and unemployed men work, and was established by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Many were employed by the government to plant trees as a part of the conservation of forests in reservations.

    Meant to increase agricultural prices by decreasing the production of crops. Government paid farmers subsidies to refrain from making so much of the crop supply in order to increase the demand and prices. prices.This helped increase diversity of crops, as not all farms would choose to grow only easily grown produce. Helped improve economy after many conflicts following the ease of farming after the technology of the Green Revolution was integrated.

    They were federal grants meant to assist states provide assistance to those in need, and helped by providing work relief programs, part-time work jobs for college students, and cash relief for people who could not work.

    It's purpose was to assist those who were in debt because of mortgage payments for a house. Did so by allowing for refinancing and providing loans.
  • National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA)

    Its purpose was to help recover from the Great Depression. Allowed for companies to create codes under the NRA for fixed wages and prices, make production quotas and made restrictions for companies to discourage alliances with others. It helped with recovering American economy that had since been on a downward slope.
  • Glass-Steagall Banking Reform Act (FDIC)

    It made an insurance program for deposits in many banks, which were reforms to have more workers invest in them. It was reassurance by the government to refund money if a bank fails. Helped economy recover from previous public hysteria, where people would rush in to banks and take out their money if the bank or market was said to be failing.

    Meant to enforce and regulate rules for the stock market. The government takes more initiative in regulating the trading of stocks exchanges. Insider trading as well as monopolies were prevented with these regulations, as they were made punishable crimes.
  • National Youth Administration

    The intentions of this program were to provide education and work for people ages 16 to 25. This was achieved by government grants given to schools for student's work. Students could work and attend school, while others who did not have either received specialized training for future jobs
  • Surplus Commodities Program

    This program was meant to provide lower costing goods to poor families. The government achieved this by gathering products that were surpluses from farmers. This program continues today in the form of Food Stamps.
  • Rural Electrification Administration

    Meant to give federal loans for the installation of electricity distributors. This occurred in isolated rural areas of the United States. This was an attempt to help the economy improve in those areas, especially during the Great Depression.
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

    This forth a set minimum wage and maximum amount of hours for many workers. Not adhering to these laws led to fines for the businesses responsible, which promoted the fair treatment of workers.
  • Social Security Act

    -Relief Effort
    To give pensions to retired people, unemployment insurance, and assistance for low income or disabled folks. This financial assistance was given in the form of monthly checks to each qualifying person. The money give was taken from taxes given to the government by American Citizens.
