    Challenge to the Health Triangle: No Friends
    Sid just moved to a new school in a new town. He doesn't know anyone, and after a week, being alone begins to take its toll. Sid decides he's going to overcome it by talking to people and being more social. It works, and Sid has many new friends.

    It's getting colder out, and Sid realises he is starting to not excercise as much, and is putting on the pounds. He decides to lose 20 pounds by the spring. He will do this by eating healthy (eating all the food groups), and exercising more, running and lifting.

    Stressful Event
    Two days before Christmas, Sids family was evicted from their apartment. Being homeless during the holidays caused a lot of stress for Sid, of course. Physically, he had no energy and often felt tired and unable to exercise. At the same time, the lack of money for food also made him thin. To help cope, Sid wrotedown his thoughts on old paper, and was able to get his feelings out.

    Best friend starts drinking
    Sids best friend, Hal, starts to party on the weekend, and subsequently begins to drink at these parties.Sid is concerned about Hal's health. He knows drinking can cause liver damage, and lead to alcoholism, which makes you think you need alcohol to feel good. Hal also binge drinks, and this can lead to death if not treated. Sid tries to tell Hal but he is almost never sensible from being intoxicated, this concerns Sid because Hal has to drive everywhere.
  • Uncle Grayson dies

    Sids Uncle Grayson died, one of his closest relatives, died while skydiving because he dropped his parachute. Of course, Sid experiences grief. During denial, he became crazy, thinking Grayson was still there, talking to him and continuing life as usual. After it hit him, he went through anger. Often wrecking his room and being irratible to other people.

    Realises he is at risk for health issues, eats healthier
    Because of his family's history of health issues, Sid decides he should stop eating MIckey D's every day. This new diet will lower his chance of getting many long term diseases/conditions. These are a heart attack, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
  • Aunt Payton starts smoking again

    Aunt Payton starts smoking again
    Failing to keep to her resolution, Sid's aunt begins smoking once again. This worries Sid, because he knows his aunt could get luing cancer and mouth cancer. Also, it increases her risk for heart attack and stroke.
  • Takes keys away from drunk friend

    Sid has to stop his friend from driving home drunk. When he's sober again, Sid tells him the dangers of driving drunk, 1. It's illegal you can get in trouble, and 2. You have slow reaction time, so you're likely to crash, putting yourself and others and other in danger.
  • Sick with flu for a week

    To treat the flu, Sid needs proper nutrition and lots of fluids, and he also rests the whole week. Next year, Sid will make sure he doesn't get it by gettting his flu shot. Also, he washes his hands and stays away from sick people, every man for himself.
  • Puberty Begins for Sid

    Puberty is a time of change. Physically, he begins to show male sex characterics. Mentally, his memory and cognition improve.
  • Abstinence Pledge

    Sid's parents talk to him about being abstinent. They talk about how abstinence isn't just sex, its also not doing drugs and alcohol. Remaining abstinent from sex helps that from getting STD's and having children when you don't want them. Also, not doing drugs and alcohol stops you from getting addicted or sick from alcohol. Remaining abstinent from all of these helps you live a longer, healthier life.
