    The first humans who are not native to modern-day united states cross the being sea land bridge in modern-day Alaska. These is the very first roots of civilizations like the Aztec, Mayans and Incas. Eventually, these people would migrate down the west coast and end up in Mexico and South America.

    Christopher Columbus lands in South America on his second trip. This opens the door to modern exploration tempting other explorers to now brave the open ocean en route to the new world. This would bring trade and westernization to the new world where as of now societies like the Incas, Aztecs, and Mayans are currently or have lived.

    Jamestown Virginia is the first settlement by Europeans to flourish. This small town would turn into the example of what other towns would follow behind. Though the colony was abandon for three years the people returned and eventually Jamestown would serve as the capital of the colonies until 1699.

    The enlightenment would produce many books, essays, and inventions as well as wars, scientific discoveries. This period is so important because for the first time ever we now have citizens fighting for their own rights for individual freedom, freedom to own land, and emancipation.

    The industrial revolution was the new era of factories, canals, the very famous steam engine. This was the turn from old times where people did everything to now where machines would start to take that role.

    This is a series of laws passed by the British government on the American colonies in 1767. They placed new taxes and took away freedoms from the colonists. Now there is tax on paper, paint, lead glass and tea.

    The Boston massacre was a confrontation involving colonists and British troops. The colonists were pestering the troops and antagonizing them until finally, the troops opened fire into a crowd of people killing five colonists. This would amp the patriotism of men like paul revere and Samuel Adams.

    Some colonists got together and raided bristihs transport boats and threw the taxed tea into the botson harbor. If the colonists would be taxed on tea, then no one would have tea!!

    The revolutionary war was a war built around pure hatred and rebellion. The American colonists dealt with all the tax imposed on the colonies, dealt with the Boston massacre and eventually all that anger bottled up until the continental militia attacked Lexington and concord.

    The declaration of independence is exactly what it says. The declaration of our independence from Britain. It outlined our new republic. It outlines 27 grievances of king George and states that all men are created equal. This shows early hypocrisy that in fact all men are not created equal unless you are white.

    The cotton gin is one of the first machines to improve factory production. The cotton gin now elements the needs for a human to remove seeds from the raw cotton. As good as this was for production it was just as good for plantation owners. Now plantation owners needed more slaves to meet the need for more cotton.

    This is the movement to end slavery in the united states. A lot of northern people did not agree with slavery but in the south, it was very different and they relied heavy on slaves for labor on the plantation. In all reality, the north was relying on slavery because the south was producing the natural resources the north needed.

    This is the first land battle of the civil war. This is where both armies both union and confederate both realized the war was going to be much bloodier and much longer then expected. Both sides had about 18,000 pourly trained troops, but the confederates forced a union retreat.

    President lincoln promotes Ulysses S. Grant to major general of the union army. This is significant because not only year earlier grant was homeless but now he is commanding the entire union army.

    The army of northern Virginia is camped in Appomattox Virginia now surrounded by general grant and general Sheridan both commanding separate union armies. General Robert E. Lee agrees to grants the terms of unconditional surrender ending the civil war.

    President lincoln is assassinated 5 days after the end of the civil war by John Wilkes Booth who considered himself a true confederate. He kills lincoln in hopes of crumbling the recently victorious union. His attempt fails and will ultimelty lead Uylsses S. Grant to become the 18th president of the untied states.
