Columbus departed Spain looking for riches and spices in India. He sailed with 3 ships named the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. -
Jamestown Colony
Jamestown didn't work out so well. Important people were Pocahontas and John Smith. No one wanted to work and a lot of people died. They arived to late and they didn't know how to grow crops. Most people died in the winter. -
Plymouth Colony
Pilgrims sailed over on the sip called the Mayflower and settled at Plymouth seaking religious freedom. Important events in Plymouth include the Mayflower Compact, the first Thanksgiving, and peace with the Native Americans. -

The Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was made so the British soldiers could cme to a colonists house and stay there without permission. The colonist were mad about this so they didn't treat the soldiers well. The made them eat scraps and made them sleep on the floor. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight. British soldiers fought a mob throwing sticks, snoballs, and stones. Many colonists died during the Boston Massacre. -
The Boston Tea Party
Sons of Liberty dressed up as native americans and the dumped 342 chests of british tea into the ocean. The sons of liberty did this because the were sick of what the british was taxing them on and for. It is called a "tea party" but it wasn't really a party at all. -

Paul Revere rode int Lexington and warned the americans yelling 'THE BRITISH ARE COMING! THE BRITISH ARE COMING!' -

The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the revolutionary war. George Washington made 5,895 British troops surrender their troops on October 7, 1777. Some of the battles in the battle of Saratoga were the battle of Bennington, the battle of Freemans farm, and the battle of Bemis Hights. -
