Fetal Development

  • Month 1

    Egg attaches to uterus. Very critical stage for spinal cord and brain. Heart begins to beat. Organs and circulatory systems forms.
  • Month 2

    Face, ears, limbs, and eyes are in full effect.
    Bones are beginning to take its place.
    Quarter Inch starting the month.
  • Month 3

    Mouth, lips, eyelids, and nostrils will appear.
    Toes and Fingers are almost done forming.
    All organs will appear but not yet developed.
  • Month 4

    Baby can/will suck its thumb.
    Swallowing, hiccups, and moving around will occur.
    Physical face features will become more clear.
  • Month 5

    Hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows appear.
    Organs are becoming more developed.
    Baby increased movement activity.
  • Month 6

    Breathing movements start.
    8-12 ounces starting the new month
  • Month 7

    Weighs about 1-2 pounds at this point.
    Activity, rest, and quiet times
  • Month 8

    Weight gain increases a lot.
    Baby might react to loud noises with reflex action.
    Baby gets into head-down position.
  • Month 9

    Weight increases.
    Less Movement from baby
