baby starts out as a cell with all the DNA to determine its eye color, hair color, etc. -

the baby becomes an embryo and is the size of a "poppy seed" -

the heart begins to beat 2 times as fast as the mothers, and is the baby is the size of a 'sesame seed' -
6 weeks
the baby's face starts to develop and it gets little nubs where the arms and legs are -
8 weeks
a nose and upper lip appear, arms and legs begin to grow, fingers begin to form, and it starts to move -
9 weeks
starts to look more human and the eyes develop, but they are shut -
10 weeks
organs start to function and finger nails and toe nails start to grow -
11 weeks
baby is able to hiccup, she/he is almost fully formed, and bones begin to harden -
14 weeks
baby is able to pee, make facial expressions, and suck thumb -
15 weeks
baby, with eyelids still shut, can see light from outside the womb -

the baby's sex is detectable -

able to feel the baby move ( if you haven't already) -

hear noises form outside womb and can hear the mothers heart beat -

baby can feel motion, like if you dance, its hearing also improves -

brain is growing fast, hair might be growing, and taste buds are developing -
28 weeks
eye sight is getting better, grown eyelashes, and he/she can blink -
29 weeks
lungs and muscles are preparing for the real world and head is making room for brain to grow -
31 weeks
the baby is filling out its arms and legs and it is able to turn its head side to side -
34 weeks
baby is the size of a cantaloupe and its lungs and nervous system are growing -
35 weeks
baby is the size of a honeydew melon, the kidneys are fully developed, and he/she can began to process some waste through his/her liver -
39 weeks
the baby is fully developed but still needs to put on some fat to have a regular body temperature in the real world -
40 weeks
THE BABY IS DUE!!! ( if you are later your doctor will probably take test to make sure the baby is OK)
