French and Indian War
The war was fought between the British and French. It was apart of the 7 year war. The war gave the british more land in North America. -
Proclamation of 1763
all steelers wern't allowed to go past the appalachian mountains. It gave England the power to control the expansion in the west. the Expansion failed and settlers kept coming across the border and started to claim more land in ohio valley. The british troops policed it. -
Treaty of 1763
The treaty ended the 7 year war. France gave up their land in North America. The threats maid on the British military stopped immediately after the treaty was signed. The treaty brought the american colonists and the british together. -
Stamp Act
all lawyers and merchants had to pay a tax on stamps. they had to pay them for documents, legal papers, and ships. tavern owners and printers for news papers also need to pay the taxes. The only problem the people had against the act was the political matter of it the actual price of it wasn't bad at all. -
Boston Massicure
The Boston Massacre was a very deadly riot. i starts as a small fight between some colonists and a british soldier. Then it got big and started a riot that was chaotic and with lots of blood shed. -
Boston Tea Party
It was a protest against the british taxes on the teas. The American colonists threw the tea in the port. This protest included the sons of liberty in it and they were the leaders of it. -
Intolerable Act
The british colonists passed these laws that were not fair at all to all the colonists. These laws just targeted the colonists and taxed them on everything. The taxes all went to the british gov and profited the british. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The battle happened in massachusetts and the American colonists were defeated. Almost all of the fighting took place on nearby Breeds Hill. The colonists tried to avoid a fight but they actually provoked a fight. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
This battle was the first one that kicked off the American Revolution.The British marched in to boston in Concord trying to down the tension between them. Was located in lexington and concord. -
Battle of Trenton
This battle was led by George Washington and his troops. They crossed into Delaware on Christmas day. In the next 10 days they fought a few battles and won two big important battles. It was an important battle because Washington and his troops badly defeated the Hessian army. -
Publication of Common Sense
The pamflit was a way to encourage the people of the colonies to fight back against the britains. It was an anonymous publication so no one could blame one person on it. These pamflits were spread easily all over the colonies and it even got in britain hands witch mad them very angry but encouraged everyone else. -
Declaration of Independence
The meating of making the Declaration was located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, was made by the Continental congress. The declaration pronounced that the colonies wanted independence from Britain. it was made up of 3 major parts, all men are created equal, people had Inalienable rights with life liberty and pursuing happiness. and the other main point is that the people have the right to defend themselves and others of these rights. -
Battle of Saratoga
it was actually two battles that were fought here and it was apart of the second year of the American Revolution. The two battles were fought a little over 2 weeks apart and it was a big turnaround in the war with the colonist winning the battles. In the battles the british actually surrendered to 5000 colonist men in Saratoga New York. -
Valley Forge
Was commanded by George Washington and they were defeated a few times. That led to the suspicion of Washington was a good enough leader and they were believing he was becoming incompetent. -
Battle of Cowpens
The Battle of Cowpens was probably one of the most destructive battles in the war and it made lots of casualties that the british couldn't handle and wouldn't be able to bring back. This battle led to the surrender at Yorktown that fall. The British lost many men compaired to the american colonists in this one the british lost about 600 and the colonists lost only about 72 men. -
Battle of Yorktown
The battle was not realy like a battle. It was mostly a surrender. George Washington was recognized as a good leader after this battle. -
Treaty of Paris 1783
The treaty of paris was signed in paris. The ones who signed this were the representatives of King George the 3rd of great britain. The treaty ended the American Revolution and gave the U.S. independence.
