    Scott was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. His parents were both workers but the mother was more successful. His mother was a wholesale grocers, his father had a furniture business but it didn’t end well. He tried getting other jobs but they didn’t work out.

    Scott was a smart joyful boy. He went to St. Paul Academy. At a young age as if 13 he was writing, his first story was published in the school paper. He would write detective stories.

    When Scott was 15 he went to a prestigious catholic school preparatory school in New Jersey. He lived with his father, while in New Jersey Scott’s noticed how his son could write. He encouraged his son to keep going.

    After graduating in 1913, Scott stayed in New Jersey to continue his artistic development at Princeton university. He devoted his time to become a writer, he wrote scrips for famous triangle club musicians and articles, he also wrote in magazines.

    In 1917 Scott dropped out of school and wrote a book called “The romantic Egotist”. He then joined the U.S army. His dreams of writing and everything were gone because of how he was afraid that he’d might die during the war. While being in the army Scott became a lieutenant. Before Scott was even deployed to go to battle they war ended in 1918.

    After the war Scott moved to New York. He met a girl named Zelda, Scott ended up marrying her. A few months later Scott moved back to St. Paul and began writing again.
  • Zelda

    Zelda was the daughter of a white supremacist judge. Zelda was Scott’s wife. They got together fast. They weren’t together for too long because Zelda didn’t want to live off of Scott’s low salary, so she lacked her stuff and left.

    Scott went back to St. Paul and rewrote his novel called “This side of paradise”. Editor Maxwell Perkins seen the novel and accepted it

    Zelda and Scott got back together in 1920. They moved to NYC together. A year later they moved back to New Jersey they mad had their only one child named Francis.

    The Fitzgeralds moved to France in spring of 1924. There in France Scott was able to write his novel called the “ Great Gaspy”. He published the book while they were on their way to Paris. The novel didn’t really sell good, but he was praised for it. They stayed in France till 1926
  • Going back to America

    The Fitzergalds moved back to America because Scott thought France was distracting him from making new novels. They moved to Delaware for 2 years. There Zelda tried becoming a professional dancer.

    Zelda was so stressed with her intense ballet training it was hurting her health. In 1930 Zelda suffered her first breakdown, she was being token care of in a clinic. Scott has to pause on writing novels so that he could pay for zeldas bills.
  • Hollywood

    Scott became a alcoholic and ruined his relationship with Zelda. He couldn’t even write commercial stories. He couldn’t maintain a home his child and sent her to boarding school. He then moved to Hollywood and became a screen writer. While doing that he began writing novels again.
