    The Black Death was a terrible outbreak of plague carried by rat fleas. It was estimated that the Black Death killed 25 million people. 25 million people is 1/3 of Europes population. The plague caused a series of religious, social and economic upheavals.

    In 1418 Prince Henry (the navigator) organizes a school for navigation. This school oddly enough was called the School of Navigation. It was a base for explorations on Cape St. Vincent in Potugal. The exact location of this school is apparently unknown.

    Columbus Learns and Discovers
    In 1492 AD Columbus discovers the West Indes which was in the New World. He also learns that compasses change direction slightly as the longitude changed. After about 7 centuries the last moslems are diven from the Spanish ground. Leonardo Da Vinci drew a plan for a flying machine.

    Columbus had 4 different voyages to the new world. In the time span of 1502 until 1504 were his four voyages. In this voyage Columbus commanded that put many men from the sea to the port of Cadiz. He was very old but still felt another voyage in him.

    Christopher Columbus died in 1506 AD. The symptoms noted in his personal journal led people to think that he died of a heart attack. He died at the age of 55 in Valladolid. He could be known as one of the greatest explorers ever.

    Pizzaro, a spanish conquerer captures and hangs the emperor of the Incas. This emperor was Athualpa. Spain also conquers the Inca Empire. The Inca Empire was basically already destroed anyway due to the civil war and the smallpox epidemic.
