In 1418 Prince Henry (the navigator) organizes a school for navigation. This school oddly enough was called the School of Navigation. It was a base for explorations on Cape St. Vincent in Potugal. The exact location of this school is apparently unknown. -

The moslem Turks capture the amazing city of Constantinople. A few historians use date as the beginning of the historical period which we know as the Renaissance. The Genoese put their financial support behind Portuguese efforts that way they could find a new route to Asia. Finding a new route to Asia would help them a lot. -

Columbus had 4 different voyages to the new world. In the time span of 1502 until 1504 were his four voyages. In this voyage Columbus commanded that put many men from the sea to the port of Cadiz. He was very old but still felt another voyage in him. -

Christopher Columbus died in 1506 AD. The symptoms noted in his personal journal led people to think that he died of a heart attack. He died at the age of 55 in Valladolid. He could be known as one of the greatest explorers ever. -

The first event I chose was all about the Black Death. I felt this was a good one to chose because, it killed 25 million people and it was a big outbreak that will not be forgotten, in my opinion.
