    This was the first phone to make a phone call over a cellular network. It was made by Dr. Martin Cooper, and the call was made in 1973. The first one was sold in 1983 for a cost of 3,995 dollars.

    This phone went on the market in 1989 at a price of 3,000 dollars. It was the first truly portable phone, and the first flip phone. Its design inspired many generations of phones to come. Unlike earlier phones, it could be kept in jackets or pockets (because of its smaller size). The first one we showed, for instance, had to be kept in cars, houses, and sometimes briefcases because of its large size.
