The baseball bat had existed for 30 years previous but, before it was make your own bat and the bats were just large pieces of cylindrical wood. That was until Louisville made the first strong and professional style white ash bat. Louisville made the first uniform bat.

Every bat up to this point had a flat top to give a hitting advantage so the league decided to make it have to be a round bat top. They also increased the diameter to 2.75 inches. All of the bats had to change to make this possible

The first aluminum bat was invented allowing younger people to hit the ball farther and easier. This increased the number of young ones that played the game. The use of metal bats in the pro's was outlawed due to the power the bat could generate and for the safety of the pitchers.

These bats were made originally to be better that aluminum so they have to outlaw them in high school play. The bats keep improving yet the pitching doesn't change much. These bats are very dangerous and many injuries occurred during the first usage of these bats.

This was the first change in professional bats in a century. These bats hit a little better some more pop but, mostly there had been a lot of injuries from splintering or broken wood bats so the maple bats break a lot less often than the maple wood.
