  • Invention of Computer

    The computer was first invented by Charles Babbage but was not physically built until 1991. Alan Turning invented the science required for computers, known today as "Computer Science". The ENIAC "electronic, general-purpose digital computer" was first constructed in 1945 and took up a whole room and had only 20 words worth of memory.

  • Invention of the Radio

    The Radio was developed by an Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi, and it originated from the idea of a wireless telegraph in the 1890s. It wasn't till 1895 when Marconi's invention and ideas took shape when he sent a Morse code message to a source more than a kilometre away, which for the time was unheard of.

  • Invention of Laptop

    The first laptop was designed by Adam Osborne in 1981. It weighed only 24 and a half pounds and had a 5-inch display. This computer was named Osborne 1 after its creator.

  • Invention of the Television

    The first ever television was created in 1927 by Philo Farnsworth and simply broadcasted on it a singular line. The wider public only noticed this breakthrough once the press was notified of this development in 1928.

    The first personal computer made its appearance on shelves in 1971, after being developed by Blankenbaker of Kenbak Corporation in 1970. this computer was named the Kenbak-1.

    The first Emailing system was invented by Ray Tomlinson called the ARPANET's networking system in 1971. It was soon sought out by many other major companies for the incredible benefits it had.

    The first mobile phone was developed by John F. Mitchell and Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973. it weighed 2kg's.

  • Invention of the internet

    By most, it is considered that the first invention of the internet was in 1983, this allowed for the first time, computers were able to contact and send messages to one another opening up new pathways for scientific development.

  • The Invention of the Smart phone

    In 1992 the first smartphone was invented. It was named the IBM Simon and made available in 1994. The original name was the Simon Personal Communicator but was shortened down to only state Simon and the company is now IBM.

  • Invention of Pay TV

    In Australia, the pay-TV industry launched in 1995, although the initial start-up was not what was to be expected. Within the first three years of production, the industry lost 3 billion dollars at the time, now worth just under 6 billion.

    Google was invented in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The name originally was RackRub before realising to the public in 1996 but was soon changed to google after reconsideration.

  • Invention of Myspace

    Myspace was developed in 2003 by two internet marketing company "eUniverse" employees. These men were Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe. It was the first social network to reach a global level.

  • The Invention of Skype

    Skype was first founded in 2003 by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis. In 2005 eBay acquired the company for 2.3billion USD.

  • Invention of Facebook

    Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, all of which was currently attending Harvard University in 2004. Facebook rose to be the leading social network globally within three years.

  • Invention of YouTube

    Youtube was first created in 2005 by Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, all three former employees of Paypal. YouTube was bought for 1.65 Billion USD in 2006.

  • Invention of Twitter

    Twitter was founded by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass in 2006 with the original intent of a way to simply sharing short messages with friends, which has now been developed to see what we know as twitter today.

  • Invention of Instagram

    Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger both founded Instagram in 2010. It was bought by FaceBook in 2012 for 1 billion USD. It is currently the world's largest photo-sharing website world wide.

  • Invention of SnapChat

    The founders were Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown who developed it in 2011. Snapchat is the world's second most popular social media network, following FaceBook.

  • Invention of TikTok

    Tiktok was invented in 2016 by a Chinese company called ByteDance. The founder was Zhang Yiming, a Chinese internet entrepreneur.
