    The first mobile phone was manufactured by Motorola and the first moblie cell phone call was made by Marty Cooper who was the engineer of this revolutionary phone. The Motorola Dayna TAC had a LED screen and gave up to 30 minutes of talk time. This cell phone was very expensive costing almost $4,000.

    The Motorala Micro TAC was the first truly portable phone. This phone was a little bit smaller and could fit in most jacket pockets. Along with the LED display and standard 12 buttons this phone also had a caculator, hands free option and a key tones. Just like the Dayna TAC the Micro was just as expensive and cost about $2,500. This was also the start of flip phones

    Nokia manufactures their first phone the Nokia 101 and Motorola produces another, International 3200. These phones had very long antennas that allowed for longer distance calles with better connection than the previous cell phones. The Motorola allowed up to 2 hours of talk time wich was a big improvement from the DayaTAC.

    PDA's were very revolutionary and was the beging fo the touch screen trend. This phone was owned by buisness men and many other professionals. This was also the first cell phone that had internet connectivity. Apple launched the first PDA, Newton (Platform) in 1993 but Plam had a more popular phone called the Palm Piolt that was launched in1997 and cost up to $300.

Manufacturing companies saw this as their chance to capatilize on this development to make more money. These phones can act as a computer, book or anything you want it to be. Instead of only being able to talk up to 30 minutes like the Motorola Dayna TAC phones today can hold conversations for hours.
