When RJ died, everyone in the family was depressed all the time. Life wasn't the same without him. -
Charlie's Setting
After Charlie left RJ's 8th grade graduation, everyone in his family stayed at home most of the time because they were all so sad about RJ's death. -
Charlie's Characters
Charlie Elliot was a middle school boy that had a mother that cared for him, a father that worked all the time, and a brother named RJ that died in the 8th grade. -
Charlie's Background
Charlie had an older brother named RJ that died when he was in 6th grade, he went to Jackson Elementary school, and he had a dog named Sunny. -
Charlie's Rising Action 1
Everyday when Charlie gets home it's very quiet because his mother is always in bed crying over RJ and his dad is always at work. So, Charlie decides that he needs to get a summer job. He goes to his neighbor, Mr. Hanna and asks if he can have a job working for him and Mr. Hanna says yes. -
Charlie's Rising Action 2
Charlie starts to realize that his mother and father are crying a lot more then when they were at the beginning of the summer. A couple days after Charlie realizes this his Aunt Susan comes to get his mother to go live with her for a couple of months. Charlie's family is dissolving. -
Charlie's Rising Action 3
After Charlie's mother leaves he has nothing to do all day but work for Mr. Hanna. Charlie figures that he needs to do some fun things before school starts so he writes a list. One of the things on the list was to go to a parade with his father and to replant his mothers garden. -
Charlie's Rising Action 4
Charlie and Sunny develop a closer relationship. Charlie takes Sunny on a walk everyday through the woods. Meanwhile, Charlie's mother comes home and is very grateful that Charlie replanted her garden. -
Charlie's Rising Action 5
Everyday while Charlie is at school, all he can think about is Sunny. He can't wait to get home and take Sunny on a walk. When Charlie gets home Sunny is always waiting for him at the bus stop, without being told, even when there's only a half day of school Sunny knows when Charlie's coming home. -
Charlie's Rising Action 6
While Charlie was taking Sunny on a walk, Sunny saw a dead possum. Sunny grabbed it in her mouth and took it to safety. Charlie's dad was very impressed because a possum is the only animal in the woods that don't have rabies. They can tell that Sunny is very smart. -
Charlie's Rising Action 7
RJ's birthday and death date pass. Charlie and his parents all cry and some of RJ's things are put in the living room. After these dates pass everything goes back to normal. A couple of days after this, hunting season starts. -
Charlie's Climax
Charlie's dad asks Charlie to help him with a project in the barn. Once the project is finished, Charlie can't find Sunny. He looks for a really long time until he finally found her. As Sunny is running towards Charlie she gets shot by a hunter. -
Bone's Setting
Bone lived in a shed, went to a garbage heap in the Merrion's yard to eat, and went in the woods next to the shed when the Merrion's weren't home. -
Bone's Characters
Bone is a dog that lives in a shed. He is considered the leader that always knows the right thing to do. His sister, Squirrel always followed Bone. She wouldn't be able to live without Bone. Their mother didn't really do much. She just watched Mine, the fox and taught Bone and Squirrel how to live on their own. -
Bone's Background
Bone was a dog that lived in a shed. The shed was in the backyard of the Merrion's and they didn't like animals, except the youngest son. -
Bone's Conflict
Bone's mother left him and his sister and they kept on thinking that she was going to come back home, but she wasn't. -
Bone's Rising Action 2
Two ladies find Bone and Squirrel. One lady takes Squirrel and the other lady takes Bone. Bone goes to the lady's house and finds out that she is pregnant and has a husband and a cat. The couple give Bone a new name too, Simon. -
Bone's Rising Action 1
After Bone and Squirrel left the shed, they met a couple that thought they were troublemakers because they kept going to the bathroom on their floor. So, the couple took Bone and Squirrel to the parking lot in the mall and threw them out the window of the car. -
Bone's Rising Action 3
After the baby is born the couple didn't pay much attention to Bone. Sometimes they even forgot to let him out or feed him. The couple start to interview people to be the babysitter, but the one they chose didn't like dogs. So the couple gave Bone to the wife's father, Franklin. -
Bone's Rising Action 4
Bone liked living with Franklin, but he didn't get a lot of exercise. All he did was lay on the couch and go outside in the very small yard to go to the bathroom. Most of the time Bone ended up going to the bathroom on Franklin's floor because Franklin forgot to let him out. -
Bone's Rising Action 5
The wife and husband decide that Franklin should be put in an old folks home. Franklin doesn't want to do this but ends up going. They have Franklin's neighbor that doesn't like dogs come over everyday and let Bone out and feed him until they decide what they are going to do with him. -
Bone's Climax
When Franklin's neighbor came over to let Bone out, he accidently left the front door open and Bone escaped. -
Henry's Conflict
Henry was really disappointed when his best friend, Matthew moved. After he moved, Henry had no friends to hang out with. -
Henry's Setting
Henry basically stayed at home most of the time, but when he wasn't home he was at school because he didn't have anyone to hang out with. -

Henry really wanted a dog, his best friend that lived across the street moved, and his parents are the school librarians. Henry lived in Claremont and was in middle school. -
Bone's Falling Action 1
Bone lived outside for months and it was hard for him to find food at first. One day he was taking a walk a stumbled across a familiar smell and reconized the Merrion's house. -
Henry's Rising Action 1
It was the first day of school and henry had no one to talk to or walk to school with. He kept on thinking how much he missed Matthew and how mad he was at him for moving. All Henry did was go to school then come home, he was bored all the time. -
Henry's Rising Action 2
Henry was beginning to become very sad because he was lonely all the time. He began to want a dog even more. He kept on asking his parents to get him a dog, but they always just walked away without saying anything. He was always thinking about getting a dog. -
Bone's Falling Action 2
Bone stayed in the shed for a couple of days but then decided that it was time for him to move on. He started walking and found a place that he really liked. Bone stayed there for a while and decided that that was the place he wanted to live at. -
Henry's Rising Action 3
Henry didn't know what to do. He didn't know why his parents weren't answering about getting a dog. Then he remembered that a long time ago, his parents said that they wouldn't get him a dog because they thought he wouldn't let the dog out, forget to feed it or be too lazy to take it on walks. -
Henry's Rising Action 4
Henry decided that he needed to prove to his parents that he was responsible enough for a dog. Henry cleaned his room, cleaned the dishes, and did a lot of other things too. Henry's parents got suspicious but didn't say anything. -
Henry's Rising Action 5
Henry asks one last time if he can get a dog because he has acted mature for a week, but his parents say no. -
Henry's Climax
While walking outside, Henry sees a tan dog eating in a trashcan. Henry tries to get close to it but it runs away. He decides to name the dog Buddy. -
Henry's Falling Action 1
Henry had a plan. he was going to train Buddy and then present him to his parents and they would let Henry keep Buddy as a pet. When Henry was walking outside he saw a lady that everyone thought was wierd, but she was actually really nice. Her name was Letty Lewis. -
Henry's Falling Action 2
On the walk home from school, Henry sees Anthony and his brothers and sisters. Anthony says hi to Henry and introduces all of his siblings. Henry finally has friends! -
Henry's Falling Action 3
Henry doesn't see Buddy for a long time and he's worried that something bad has happened but he can't tell his parents. On Christmas Eve, Henry and his parents go to their Aunt Susan's house. Charlie, Henry's dad, tells the story about Sunny. His parents don't want him to get a dog because they don't want him to go throught the same thing Charlie went through. -
Henry's Falling Action 4
Henry accepts the fact that he can't have a dog because of his dad's story and he has developed a close relationship with Letty Lewis. So, Henry decides to give Letty Buddy after he is trained. Henry starts leaving out cookies every night for Buddy. -
Henry's Falling Action 5
Buddy hasn't come to eat his cookies for a couple of days and Henry ends up telling his dad because he's really worried about Buddy. Henry and his dad ask all of Henry's friends to help find Buddy. -
Resolution 1
While looking for Buddy, Henry and his dad were walking through the woods and heard a whine. They ran towards the sound and found Buddy stuck in a hunter's trap. There was blood all around him. -
Resolution 2
Henry and his dad carefully take Buddy to the vet. He has to stay overnight for a while, but Buddy is okay and will be able to walk in a couple of days. Henry visited Buddy everyday at the vet to make sure he was alright. -
Resolution 3
Buddy is finally allowed to be taken home. Henry's parents say that he can keep Buddy as a pet as long as he is responsible for him. Once they take Buddy home, Henry and him play in the yard for hours. Henry finally has a dog!
