The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independece is when the Thirteen Colonies Declared their Independence from Great Britain. The people of America is did not like the way their being treated by Britain. They decided to get some leaders of the colonies together to write a document to declare their independence. Thomas Jefferson of Virginia was chosen to write this. John Hancok was the first to sign his name. He wrote this in big letters to prove how serious this was. This a very important event in U.S history. -
The Louisiana Purchase
The Lousiana Purchase was a land deal between the United States and France. The United States paid France 15,000,000 dollars. for 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi River. Now the port of New Orleans, Louisiana is a critical port to the United States commerence. The United States doesent have all of the Land it has now yet. They get the rest of the land later. -

Civil War
It started with a dissagreement between Union and Confederate states. The Confederate states began with south Carolina seceeded from the Union and 10 others followed. The Union Army was lead by Ulysses S. Grant and the Confederate Army was lead by Robert E. Lee. At the middle of the war the Battle of Gettysburg was the turning point of the war for the Union stopping Confederate raids. At the end the Confederates surrendered to the Union. -
Assationation of Abraham Lincoln
The Assationation of Abraham Lincoln happenned after the Civil War was over. A group of co-conspiriters held a plan to capture Lincoln and take him back to Richmond to give back the prisoners of war. When Lincoln decided to stay in D.C instead of going to Virginia. The co-conspirators held a final meeting for John Wilkes Booth to kill the President. The president was going to a play. Then at 10:15 Lincoln was shot in the head and booth jumped over the edge and escaped but found and killed later. -
The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
The bombing of Pearl Harbor was a suprise attack by the Japenese on America. It started as a regular day on the Navy Base but then early in the morning the Japenese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. There was gun fire everywhere. The Japenese sunk alot of American battleships. The Americans tried to fight back against the Japenese but the Japenese kept destroying everything in sight. The hospital was flooded with soldiers that day. over 3,000 American soldiers were killed that day, and 1,000 hurt. -

U.S involvement in World War Two
It started with Japan bombing Pearl Harbor. Japan was apart of the Axis Powers which were against the allies. This go the U.S angry and the joined the fight in the World War. Over 16,000,000 fighting in the war. Before this America was netrual. The Americans sent some soldiers to Europe and some to the Pacific. The had battles with The Axis Powers. Eventuly 2/3 Countrys of the Axis Powers surrendered but Japan stayed. America put an end to Japan by Droppaing Atomic Bombs on Japan. -
Assationation of John F. Kennedy
The Assationation of John F. Kennedy was held in Dallas, Texas. The President was in a Presidential Motorcade. He was in his limo with everyone watching. While everyone was watching he was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald. He shot him with a sniper rifle from a box company which is now a muesem. When he was found a man named Jack Ruby did some acting for himself. He went and killed Oswald before trial. If Kennedy was alive today the wold would be different. -
Apollo 11
Apollo 11 is when the first American Astronauts were sent into space to land on the moon. Three men were sent up into space Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. The three men were sent up into space on Saturn V from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Once they were launched they were headed for the moon. When they landed Neil Armstrong said,"One small step for man,one giant leap for mankind." This was brodcasted on live TV so everyone could see it. When they returned they were heroes. -
9-11
9-11 is where 4 planes were hijacked. Two planes hit the Twin Towers in Downtown New York. The North tower was hit first and then the South Tower. The South Tower fell before the North tower did. The Police were trapped in the towers in the pile of rubble. The Third plane hit the Pentagon (Department of Defense). The Final plane was different. THe people took back the plane and it crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. That was a very sad day in American History -
Death of Osama Bin Laden
The former leader of a terroist group called Al Qaeda was killed in Pakistan. The man was killed in his compound. This man was Osama Bin Laden.He is a terrorist that does attacks on America. He was one of people who planned 9-11. He was killed by SEAL Team 6. The code for this mission was Operation Neptune Spear. Other Terrorist groups are vowing to get revenge on America for killing a leader to them. To us we hope there are going to be no more attacks.
