    The Mayflower Compact
    Created the first colony in New England
  • The English Bill of RIghts

    The English Bill of RIghts
    This document was written in England and limited the power of the throne as well as describing the rights of Parlement. This gave ideas for the writing of our constitution.

    The Virginia Decleration of Rights
    George Mason- This document listed the rights that every man should have.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    Declared that the colonies no longer belonged to England.

    Established the first form of government for the U.S. Gave all major powers to the states and proposed a very weak national government. Included only a Legislative Branch.
