  • First flight by the Wright brothers

    On this day, the Wright brothers flew 4 short flights at Kitty Hawk in their first powered airccraft which they had built themselves. This was the first successful flight to fly on Earth.
  • World War 1

    World War 1 started because of the assassination of Franz Fernandid with Britain, France and Russia against Italy, Germany and Austria-Hungary. It lasted for around 4-5 years.
  • First Winter Olympic Games

    Just like the summer Olympics, the winter Olympics were a multi-sport event which was held in Chamonix, France and ended on February 5th. These games usually consisted of winter sports.
  • Japan invades China

    This was another major event during the World wars as Japan invaded Manchuria in China and slowly made their way down to easily invade and take over Hong Kong.
  • Great Hong Kong Typhoon

    The Great HK Typhoon was one of the worst typhoons in Hong Kong's history. It killed around 11,000 people and 21 people from Macau. It lasted for around a week.
  • World War 2 Ends

    The World War 2 finally ended when Germany surrendered and the Allies accepted Germany's surrender after Adolf Hitler's suicide. Victory went to England.

    The war between North Korea (supported by China and the Soviet Union) and South Korea (supported by the United Nations force by the United States of America) finally ends.
  • Nelson Mandela sent to jail

    On June 12, 1964, Nelson Mandela received a life sentence for committing sabotage against South Africa's apartheid government, avoiding a possible death sentence.

    Mount St. Helens had it's first catastrophic eruption on May 18, 1980, at 8:32 a.m. Located in Washington, It's the deadliest and the most destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States.

    The Cold War, which was a state of political and military tension after World War II between powers in the Western Bloc and powers in the Eastern Bloc ends in 1991.
