    The Election of 1860 was a major election at the time the Republican nominee Lincoln went against the Democrat nominee Douglas. Douglas was liked a lot by the southern states and Lincoln was liked mostly by the Northern states. In the end Lincoln won the election and became the president of the United States of America.
