Born June 4, 1990, Los Angeles, California. He was the oldest of his siblings, and his parents Melissa Ann Thomas and John W. Speigel are both lawyers. -
First Model
Spiegle was a shy kid and didn't connect with many other kids throughout his earlier years, but he did connect with his 6th grade computer teacher who actually helped him build his first model from scratch. -

After completing high school Spiegel joined Stanford University in a product design program and was accepted into the Kappa Sigma fraternity -
Picaboo
In the spring, one of Spiegel's frat brothers mentioned how he wished he could send disappearing photos and immediately the idea was put into action. At first the app was to be a project for a class, but it began to develop and Picaboo was made. -
Snapchat Spreads
In November of 2012, over a billion photos had been shared by the users on the Snapchat iOS app. Every day, there were about 20 million photos being shared. Reggie Brown left the company around this time. -
CBMA
Spiegel's first major award. He won then Crunchies Best Mobile Application award. -
Lawsuit
In fabuary of 2013, Reggie Brown filed a lawsuit and planned to sue claiming that he came up with the well known ghost logo, and that his idea built the company -
Eddy Award
IN 2015 Spiegel was presented with the Eddy Award that had been presented by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, for is major role in the county economy and producing well-paying jobs for locals. -

By April 2016, Snapchat had become the top downloaded app in 28 countries. -
Marriage
Spiegel met Miranda Kerr, Australian model, at a Louis Vuitton dinner in New York in 2014. In 2015 they started dating, and on July 20, 2016 they got engaged. Then in Los Angeles, on May 27, 2017 they married in a private ceremony.
