He had read Marco Polo's description and relized Columbus was wrong. While Vespucci gets all the atention, who relizes the person who named our country? NOBODY!Even ask your parents and they won't know! It was a German cartographer named Martin Waldseemuler.

When they landed, they sat down to rest, but one brave explorer, named Balboa, went ahead. He hiked the mountain first, and when he looked to the east, he troped to his knees.Lay before him, was a huge ocean! He named it th Pacific.
