The Eucharist ritual begins with the Israelite people and their “passing over” from slavery to freedom. God asked for these families to sacrifice a lamb and place their blood upon their door posts. The following night when the angel of death struck down the first born families of Egypt, the families with the blood of the lamb on their doorposts were spared. They gathered with Moses to begin the long journey to freedom, carrying the remains of the lamb they had sacrificed.

After his betrayal, Jesus enjoys some bread and wine with his disciples explaining: 'And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, 'Take, eat; this is my body. ' And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, 'Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto remission of sins'.
