Establishing a New Government

  • The Start of a New Era

King William Hendricks mysteriously dies in his sleep, leaving the impoverished nation of Estana in grief. With no heir to take his place, his brother, Richard Hendricks takes the throne.
  • A Dictatorship Forms

King Richard Hendricks begins establishing new laws, such as the Extract Act of 1933. This new law stripped away civil liberties and rights given to citizens. Those who protest are promptly executed.
  • The Chaos Continues

King Hendricks and his men begin to censor books and limit access to the internet. Other countries are starting to take notice of him and he fears interference. The nation is in uproar and worries for what will come next.
  • A Party Forms

The King promises political power and protection to those who support him and help him fulfill his plans. His newly acquired followers are given tasks to search homes and find evidence of a potential uprising. They are also tasked with persecuting those who do not support the King and those who question the circumstances around the former king's death.
  • The Ruins of a Nation

Estana's economy is in the worst shape ever. Many citizens have become unemployed due to their views of King Hendricks. Some have even lost their homes and their belongings. The crime rate is high as people steal food and money from stores and each other, all in hopes of surviving another day.
  • Someone on the Inside

King Hendricks was confident. He believed that his men truly respected him and supported his views. He gave them power and paid positions and thought he had won them over. He never once considered testing their loyalty. Liam Wilson was by his side from the very beginning-his right hand man. Wilson assassinated King Hendricks during a speech about new laws he planned to enforce.
  • A Nation Rebuilds

After a decade of oppression, the citizens of Estana are hopeful again. They receive donations from other countries that help them rebuild their homes and feed their families. Advisers and assistants of King William Hendricks propose an idea for a new government: a parliamentary democracy. This way, they'll never have an absolute leader again.
  • Democracy at its Finest

Estanians vote for the Members of Parliament and the Parliament elects Liam Wilson as Prime Minister. He served as the beloved right-hand man to William Hendricks, unbeknownst to dictator Richard Hendricks. Civil liberties and rights are restored, and the citizens of Estana breathe a sigh of relief.
