Earned his Doctorate in Physics

When he received his Doctorate, he served as a Mathematics professor for the next 4 years.

Mach became a professor at Charles University in Prague.

Established the principle of supersonics and the Mach Number

He studied sound waves, wave propagation, and developed ways to photograph them.

Ernst Mach compared the ratio of the velocity of an object to the velocity of sound, which was the principles of supersonics. Even though he retires from research, he does not stop. He worked for the parliament in Austria, and still continued to publish books and conduct lectures.

The phenomena of supersonic speed is named after Mach
