The first stage of Erikson's stages starts from birth to one year. In Bobby's life, he is learning that if his caregivers are loving and responsive to his needs, he can learn to trust them. If they are rather the opposite, distrust with the world around him might occur. Fortunately for Bobby, his parents tend to his needs so he has learned to trust the people he comes in contact with and the environment around him. -
This is the 5th stage of Erikson's stages. The identity vs role confusion occurs during adolescence. During this stage, adolescents search for a sense of self and personal identity through exploration of values, goals and beliefs. Bobby has recently turned 18 and lately he has been questioning his own personal values and how his adult life would look like. Bobby isn't sure what he wants to do for the rest of his life and does not feel like he resonates with any career path right now. -
Ego Integrity vs. Despair is the last stage of Erikson's stages and this is the stage where individuals either feel a sense of peace and happiness with the choices they made in their life or if they regret their life choices and feel despair. Fortunately for Bobby, he found an interest in being a musician for the rest of his life in his 30s and played music around the world. Bobby feels like his life was lived to the fullest and now passes away surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.
