    Alec was born in a loving family. He was under the good care of his mother.
    In Erikson’s first stage, trust vs mistrust. In this stage, the crisis is between being taken good care which will lead to trust and believe the world is a safe place, or not being taken good care which will lead to mistrust and believe the world is untrustworthy.

    Alec's mother told him that he did a great job when he told her that he made a new friend today at the playground. In Erikson’s third stage, initiative vs guilt.In this stage, children start to plan activities in a purposeful way. If they are encouraged, they will take initiative. If they are discouraged, they will feel guilty and become overly dependent on the decisions of others.

    Alec’s primary school art teacher told him that he was really talented and could draw very well. Alec was really happy about that. In Erikson’s fourth stage, industry vs inferiority.
    In this stage, the crisis is between being able to meet or exceed their cultural expectations with the skills or knowledge they learned and acquired which leads to industry, or being unable to meet the requirements which lead to inferiority.
