5. Identity vs. Role Confusion
Larissa (17) has been accepted into the college she applied for as graduation is approaching, based on her preference major of journalism. In this stage, Identity vs. Role Confusion, the crisis lies between Larissa understanding what her career roles will be in the future during her adulthood and the uncertainty that these choices of lifestyle can cause, with the possibility that she may switch between career/educational goals. -
7. Generativity vs. Stagnation
Susan (61) is hosting her granddaughters 5th birthday party at her house. Surrounded by her three children and two other grandchildren she feels proud of the lives she has nourished and raised that will last long after she's gone. In this stage, generativity vs. stagnation the crisis lies between feeling accomplished and impactful and feeling uninvolved and detached from the world and future.
