Napoleon was known as the little Corsican because of his height of 5 feet 2 inches. He had 7 brothers and sisters. Napoleon was the fourth child and second son of Carlo (Charles) Buonaparte (1746-1785) and Letizia Ramolino Buonaparte (1750-1836). Carlo Buonaparte was an eloquent lawyer and a prominent citizen of Corsica. Letizia Buonaparte was beautiful and strong-willed. They were both members of noble Italian families.

The reason why he was called "The Little Corporal" is because he was 5 foot 7 and was soo much smaller than the other soldeirs!! He also became a Lieuenant in French Army.

The year of 1796, Napolean became a Comander of French Armies in Italy, by going at his enemy when they are not ready at war. HE tricked his enemys at war, and surprised them by sending a few of his men to line up, and sent the rest to go behind the enemy. He won his men's confidence by haveing energy, aharm, and the ability to make quick decisions. He won every battle!

1797, he returned to France as a conquering hero and was given commmand of army in tradeing to invade Britain. When he attacked Britian, he went for Britains weakest colonies-India and Egypt. He was defeated by England, and did not win that war.
