    Hybrid Vehicle in U.S. (Toyota Prius)
    Toyota released the Toyota Prius in the U.S. sometime in the year 2000. It was the first hybrid four-door sedan available in the U.S. The hybrid vehicle became very popular because of its environmentally friendly design. It runs on a double engine (electric motor and gasoline) that cuts fuel consumption and conserves energy.
  • Apple launched first Ipod

    Apple launched first Ipod
    Mp3 devices were available before this device was launched, but the Ipod transformed standards. It had a larger storage availability, offering "1,000 songs in your pocket". This made other forms of storing/listening to music, like CDs and Cassette tapes, become less necessary. Over the years, Apple has made many improvements and updates to the Ipod, with the latest model being the Ipod touch created in 2010.

    The Millau Viaduct was opened on December 16, 2004. It is known as the tallest bridge in the world, standing at 343 meters (1,125 feet). Construction began in October 2001 and finished in December of 2004. It is located in Millau France and crosses the Valley of the River Tarn.

    The revolutionary video sharing website, YouTube, was launched on February 14, 2005. The site allows users to upload, view, comment, rate, and share videos very easily. YouTube has allowed people to keep up with important trends across the globe. It has become a social website in which people can share their talents, thoughts, reactions, etc.

    Blu-Ray
    Blu-Ray was commercially introduced in June of 2006. It is a digital optical disc data storage format and was designed to supersede the DVD format. It is capable of storing high-definition and ultra-high definition video resolution. Blu-Ray has helped high-definition video displays to realize their full potential.

    Google released Android on September 23, 2008 as a response to Apple's iPhone released in 2007. It's goal was to top apple's iOS used for the iPhone. It is now the primary operating system for Samsung, Sony, LG, and HTC. It has the largest installed base of OS of any kind.

    Burj Khalifa
    Burj Khalifa was officially opened on January 4, 2010. To this day it is the tallest structure in the world with a height of 829.9 m. It is situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Architects of the building include Adrian Smith, Marshall Strabala, George J. Efstathiou, and William F. Baker.

    Google Glass was released in February of 2013. Google Glass is smart eye wear. It displays information in a hands-free format right before your eyes. It has the ability to take photos and record video, built in Applications (such as Google Maps and Google+), and voice activation.
