tJames Watt was very interested in steam engines. HE had an idea of measuring power, so he came to Boulton who gave him money to pursue his ideas. He came up with the concept of horsepower and later started measuring power in the units of watts.
-
A.L. Lavoisier liked experimenting with carbon, and observing how its absorbed. He found that carbon can form many many different compounds, and later discovered that carbon has a cycle.
-
William Robert Grove invented the hydrogen fuel cell. He started out with the concept of the incandescent light bulb, (later perfected). He had a family bar which brought in significant funds for him and his family to experiment, and he later invented the hydrogen fuel cell.
-
James Prescott Joule experimented with water and temperature and observed how high temperatures agutated water. Then he diagnosed it as heat, or thermal energy.
-
There were many contributers to the idea. Isaac Newton, and Galileo contributed a lot. they experimented with motion, and diagnosed kinetic energy
-
James watt also contributed to this idea, as well as Joule. Experiments with physics eventually came to the idea of potential energy.
-
J. Willard Gibbs was very smart. He attended Yale, and was in the physics department. He kept at it to discover Chemical energy
-
Hahn, and Staussman started out with studying atoms, and later harnessed nuclear fissoon. That led to the atomic bombs, and nuclear energy was invented.

This orginiated in Brazil, with Brazillian governments demanded that their gasoline be fused with ethanol. This new fuel was used in cars and other vehicles. Later ethanol plants were started.
