    NO child left behind was made and has caused a lot of tension between the government and educational institutions... According to my limited knowledge, there has been a big push saying that NCLB has actually left children more behind than before.

    I was in 3rd grade when this happened living in Washington State. In our classroom we immediately turned on the news and were sent home... I remember it being a really emotional and confusing day.
