This was chaotic and had no stability for learning. It also included American government and culture, so students had a source to learn specifically about their own culture and government. This helped children better understand their own country's values and become contributing citizens.

    The Compulsory Attendance Act is important to the history of education because it made attendance mandatory. At this time, school was not seen as a priority, but as unnecessary. This act forced school to become a priority in every household. School attendance rates increased dramatically because there were punishments for not abiding the laws in the act. High attendance rates also lead to more government funding provided to the school.

This is because it made it clear that the conditions of segregated school were not equal and, schools for students of color provided inadequate resources.     Title IX becoming a law in schools was very significant in education history because it sought gender equality in schools. Title IX banned gender discrimination by giving all female students the same opportunities of male students. It stated that the education system cannot support gender discrimination. This opened many doors for all female students.
