Edgar Allan Poe was born on the 19th of January 1809 in Boston (Massachusetts). -
In 1811 when he was 2 years old his father abandoned his family.

When he was 14 years old, he started writing poems. -
He was attending the University of Virginia. -
When he was 18, he decided to enter the US Army. -
He published his first book: “TAMERLANE AND OTHER POEMS” by a Bostonian because his father didn’t want him to write and to become a writer and he didn’t want to be discovered. -

The step father married again, and Edgar cut of all the contacts with him. -
He was expelled from West Point

When he was 26 years old he got a job as an editor.

He published his first great horror story “THE REAVEN” a masterpiece in American literature. -
When he was only 24 his wife died of tuberculosis.

Edgar died in Baltimore on October 7th 1849 maybe because of brain congestion or his alcoholism.
