    Paleolithic is also called the "Old Stone Age". During that time people primarily hunted animals and gathered wild vegetation. They constantly moved to follow animal herds. Simple stone tools were used. People lived primary in small clans, up to 20-30 people. They learned how to make and use fire.

    Neolithic
    Neolithic also known as the "New Stone Age", was around 10,000 BCE to 3000 BCE. People started to build settlements and live off grown food. They also first started to domesticate plants and animals. They made pottery and advanced tools. They started to farm.
  • Neanderthal

    "Neanderthal's" were discovered in 1856 in the Neander Valley. They lived 100,000 - 30,000 years ago. They had shorter legs, bigger bodies, and a stockier structure compared to modern humans. They were the first to bury the dead. They adapted to live in cold climates. There they built shelters and wore animal skins.

    "Homo Habilis" was a species of early human who lived 1.5-2 million years ago. They were the first species to use carved stone tools. Homo Habilis means "handy man." They were discovered in 1960 in Tanzania (southeastern Africa).
