  • The Boston Massacre

    It was an event that occurred March 5 , 1770. Between a patriot and a group of british soldiers. The riot began when 50 citizens attacked a british sentinel , british officer captain Thomas Preston called in soldiers killing 3 on the spot. The boston massacre was an event leading to the revolutionary war. led to the royal governor evacating the occupying army from the town of Boston.
  • first continental congress.

    Was taken place in philadelphia from september 5 to October 26 1774. The first matter to be considered by all was a plan of union of great Britain and the colonies. On october 14, the Declaration and resolves established the course of the congress. On the 20th , came the association that was pattened after the virgina association. it was a pact for noniportation of english goods , to establish mechanisms throughout the colonies and regulate the resistence to great britain.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Americans were fighting for their rights of the British crown. The movement for independence from Britain had grown. In june 1776 a five man committee including thomas jefferson, john adams, Benjamin franklin were tasked on drafting a formed statement of the colonies intentions. They formally adopted the Declaration of independence. which is now traditonally celebrated on july 4 as birth of American independence.

    In may of 1775 many were not seeking independence from britain. People like john Adams werer mindest. the fact that july congress approval the olive branch petiton. The moderate voice in the the continetal congress was dealt a serious blow. time went by hostilities continued for independence. the summer of 1776 a formed of declaration of independence.
  • Common sense by Thomas payne

    In 1776 Thoms payne published common sense which was a strong defense of american independence from england. He also produced the American Crisis ( 1776-83 ) which helped inspire the army in 1791-92 he wrote the rights of man in resonse to criticism of the french revoution by 1793, he was imprisoned in france for not endoricing the execution of louis XVI. later he died on june 8, 1809 at age 72 in new york.
