    Marco Polo

    Have you ever heared of Marco Polo? Well if you haven't then here is a little bit of information about him. He set sail in the year of 1271 and got back in the year of 1295. He went on this exploration because he wanted to explor, see what is out there, and to see China's ruler. This voyage was successful because he returned and he also got to do all the things he wanted to. He was born in 1254. He had a very good life traveling, but he sadly died in the year of 1324.

    Bartolomeu Dias

    He set sail in 1487 and got back on 1488. He went on this exploration because the king wanted to know for sure that they could reach Asia by sailing around the southern tip of Africa. This exploration was sadly not successful because he didn't make it the whole way around Africa's southern tip. He was born in the year of 1450 and sadly died on May 29 in the year of 1500

    Giovanni Caboto

    Do you know who Caboto is? If you don't then here is a little bit about him. He set sail in the year of 1497 and he also got back in the year of 1497. He went on this expidition because he wanted to find a better route to Asia. It was not successful because he because he didn't find Asia. His name in amerian would be John Cabot. He was gladly born in the year of 1450 and died in the year of 1498.

    Chistopher Columbus

    You probably know about Christopher Columbus, but I would like to just give you a little information you might have forgotten. He set sail because he needed to find a new route to the Indies. This voyage was not successful because he had found North America and not the Indies. He was born in 1451, but then sadly died on May 20, 1506.

    Vasco Da Gama

    Do you know who Vasco da Gama is if not then here is so information. He set sail on 1497 and got back on 1499. He was also sent to find out for sure if they could make it to Asia by sailing around the southern tip of Africa. This time it was successful because he did make it around the southern tip of Africa and made it to Asia. He was born in 1460, athough he sadly died on December 24, 1524.

    Alvarez Cabral

    If you don't know about Alverez Cabral then hehr is a little bit about him. He left and landed in the year of 1500. He went on this voyage so that they could claim land. It was successful because they claimed Brazil for Portugal. He was born in the year of 1467 and died in the year of 1520.

    Vasco Nunez de Balboa

    Have you ever read about Balboa? Well if you haven't you are just about going to. He started his first voyage in the year of 1501. Then he started his second voyage in 1513. He went on this voyage to prove that Vespucci was right. It was successful because he did prove that Vespucci was right. Balboa was the first to prove Vespucci's idea. He was gladly born in the year of 1475. He died on January, 1519.

    Amerigo Vespucci

    His first time he went on a expidition it only took him about one year in the year of 1499 and he didn't get to the place he wanted, but the second time he went he acctually made it to what is now called North America in the year of 1501 and got back in the year of 1502. He went on this expidition because he wanted to prove that Columbus didn't find Asia. He was successful because he proved that columbus hadn't found Asia and that he had found different land.

    Ferdinand Magellan

    Magellan's story is really interesting to me so I suggest that you keep on reading. He started his voyage in the year of 1519 and got back in the year of 1522. He also wanted to prove that Vespucci was right. He was successful because he did prove that Vespucci was right. Athough he was killed during a battle, but his sailors still made it. He was born in 1480 and died in 1521.
