    On April 30th 1803, President Jefferson bought western land from Napoleon, also known as the French. It was 828,000 square miles of land that he bought for a little over 23 million dollars. When we asked for this land we were only expecting to get a small amount of land, but the French were at war and needed more money. So we had enough luck to get more land than we wanted for only a little more money.

    California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush included over 300,000 people migrating to California for a chance to get rich quick. It was a very risky journey and it brought many different races of people, including the Forty- Niners. Forty- Niners were groups of people that first founded California to be an offical state in 1850. But, these men had a few weaknesses. For example, They cursed, drank, and hung around in whore houses because, they did not have a "mother" figure to tell them right from wrong.

    The Civil War was one of the most important battles that took place in America. This war was between the North and South of the United States and was over slavery.We all killed our "borthers" over something that could have been over the day it happened.
  • Lincoln's Assassination

    Lincoln was the United State's 16th president, he was assassinated only 9 days after the Civil War ended. John Wilks Booth was a Southern citizen who killed Lincoln at Fords Theatre.The South killed their "bestfriend" who could have saved and put back togther their home.
  • Battle of Little Big Horn

    The Battle of Little Big Horn was the Native Americans first and last win against the United States soliders. It was a crazy and bloody death for the Americans. Seven-hundred men went in to battle following General George Custard. When the battle was all said and done, no American soliders made it out alive. The Native Americans defeated the soliders and proved many people wrong.

    Chinese Exclusion Act

    The Chinese Exclusion Act is when Chinese were kept from coming in to the United States. This happened because Native born Americans got scared that the Chinese would take all the jobs. They thought this because they were extremly hard working and would do any job for almost half of what the "Americans" would do. However, the ban was lifted 10 years later so all Chinese could come back to the United States.

    Wall Street Crash of 1929, also known as Black Tuesday or the Stock Market Crash of 1929, began in late October 1929. This was the most devistaing stock market crash ever that has happened in America. This marked the start of the Great Depression that latsted 10 years. This effect America hugely because it started something that devistaed millions of people and ruined many peoples lives.

    World War ll

    This was a globaly spreaded war that lasted seven years, although America only joined in 1941, when Japanese bombed the American fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. During this war approximately 11 million people were killed This resulted in an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities. This changed America tremedesly because It lessened our population and made us a weaker country. World War II altered the political alignment and social structure of the world.
  • March on Washington/ "I Have a Dream" Speech

    This was a public speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. in which he calls for an end to racism in the United States. Beginning with a reference to the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed millions of slaves in 1863. His speech invisioned what he wanted America to look like for his kids, there kids and any other kids coming in the future. This changed America tremendously, it didn't end racism but it showed people that we are all equal and that not one of us is better than the other person.
  • My Birthday!

    I was born in Lancaster General Health Women & Babies Hospital, which is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvaina. I was the first out of four kids. Two sisters Allie and Sydni and one brother named Cole, my mom and dad also live with us. As an 8th grader I enjoy many different things, like soccer, softball and sports in general. But, I don't mind reading a good book once and a while.
  • Terroist Attacks on America

    Many people know this fatal day as 9/11. Nineteen people associated with Islamic extermist group, hijaacked four airplanes and crashed two in to the Twin towers then the thrid plane flew in to the Pentagon. The four plane crashed in a field in our own state of Pennsylvainia. The attacks resulted in extensive death and destruction, triggering major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks of that day, including over 400 police and firefighters.
