    This story occurs in modern day times, and in various places; The Alper familys home, Steven's middle school and the hospital in Phildelphia. The main characters include; Steven Alper, hid little brother, Jeffrey Alper (Jeffy), Mom and Dad Alper, and the girls in Steven's life - Annette and Renee

    The settings of this book are the hospital in Philidelphia, Steven's house in pennsylvania and Steven's middle school. This story mostly occurs at his home.

    Steven's little brother, Jeffrey, falls off of a stool which causes a terrible nosebleed. He's taken to the hospital and it is soon discovered that he has leukemia. Meanwhile, Steven deals with failing grades, communication issues with his parents, girl problems and the weight of Jeffys cancer.

    Jeffrey was told when he was sent to the doctor that it could be very critical if he is not sent straight to the emergency room if he isnt feeling well. About three or four days afteer they returned Jeffrey wasnt feeling well so they rushed straight to the emergency room.

    Steven is struggling with doing his work, focussing and he's not having any help at home. He seems very depressed. And his teachers are getting worried about him.

    A benifit concert at Steven's middle school is held to raise money for the Alper family's increasing medical bills. When Jeffy becomes sick at the concert. Steven must decide between staying at the concert to perform his starring solo performance OR going with Jeffrey to the hospital.

    At the hospital, it is determined that Jeffy only has an ear infection. As the story begins to come to an end, Jeffys health is improving. Steven and his parents are communicating with each other. Steven is back on track at school. Steven and Annettes friendship has reached a new level. Steven has also become friends with his big crush, Renee.
  • Denouement- spring

    Denouement- spring
    The Alper family has survivived a very tough year. Hving gone through a crisis with Jeffreys leukemia, Jeffrey is now in remission. The family has managed to " Weather the storm." Steven has gained an appreciation for his "annoying" little brother.

    The theme in the book is to stop worrying about the things you cant change and worry about the things you can change instead.
