A committee was created that included people from all walks of life, people of color, men and women from law enforcement, attorneys, educators, religious groups and ordinary people like me.
-
The attorneys and educators drafted the document to make sure it had the right meaning and grammar.
-
Their draft was shared with all the committee for them to review it and come back with comments on how to change or improve it.
-
There was a lot of discussion about the document especially from the religious groups when it came to marriage and gay rights.
-
Some people even proposed certain taxes to support the programs they liked and wanted included in the document.
-
The law enforcement group made additions to the document to make sure no one’s rights would be violated.
-
A final document was reviewed and no more revisions were made.
-
The committee voted to accept the proposed Constitution and Bill of Rights.
-
There would be three branches of government just like the United States of America.
