    Mother's first day of school at age 5- attended school for only 3 years as she was the 13th child in her family and was needed at home to help with the family and to do chores. Grandma would tell her, "girls are needed more at home." just learn to read/write and to count.
    Erikson's fourth stage of Industry versus Inferiority, the crisis is between learning new life skills to help the family and community (industry)or being a burden when can't perform the job right, feeling helpless(inferiority).

    Mother has been thinking she's had a challenging but wonderful life with her twelve children and husband. theres been ups and downs.
    In Erikson's eight stage, Ego integrity versus despair,the crisis is between being happy with the positive things accomplished in life and family(ego integrity) or having regrets for not having done many things or having bad experiences and not done good enough,(despair).
