    The United States Department of Health and Human Services was established. The HHS protects the health of all Americans and providing essential human services for anyone but mostly for the poor or less privileged americans. It helped the poor people live a better life.

    It killed fifty-seven people and economic devastation to the area with losses near $3 billion. The blast was estimated to have the power five hundred times greater than the Hiroshima atomic bomb.

    In the Iran-Contra scandal, Reagan had approved the sales of arms to Iran, in exchange for the release of hostages. It is important because he went againist the congress.

    University students held marches in Tiananmen Square to voice their problems, the Chinese goverment ordered the protests to be ended and used the armed forces to storm into the square and kill the protestors.

    Saddam Hussein and his Iraqi army invaded Kuwait and headed toward Saudi Arabia and their oil fields.

    Some eastern european countries broke away from the Soviet union and Milchail Gorbachar wanted to change the Soviets to a democracy.

    He fought for africans rights and became the first black president of any country.
  • 9-11

    19 terriost hijacked four planes to do suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It showed that the U.S is not as strong a everybody thought. It brought great depression to the whole nation and shock.

    This allowed people to feel like they are equal to everyone else. This was postive and negative for the U.S because it goes against christain beleif so they think it should be against the law.
