    Rose decides she should probably call her mom and make sure she's doing all right. In a hurry, Jackie tells Rose she's won the lottery and she has to go. Seeing this as suspicious, Rose and the Doctor stop by to see if she's all right.

    When they get there, they find that Jackie's okay, and she didn't actually win the lottery, rather, she won a free games console with a game to go along, but she gave it to Mickey to have. Jackie says the reason she hung up so quickly is because a new chavish thug, Darren Pye, moved into the neighborhood, and he stole someone's phone, so she let the person use her phone to call the cops. Rose and the Doctor decide to head to Mickey's.

    Rose and the Doctor go to see Mickey, who is playing the game. The Doctor sits down and plays the game for a bit, getting a very high score. Meanwhile, some aliens called the Quevvils see the high score that the Doctor got, and decide that they need to use him to play the game for them. The Quevvils are at war with the Mantodeans, and they are using the game to try and penetrate the Mantodean fortress.

    Rose goes out to buy some biscuits, whenever she runs into Darren Pye threatening an old lady. Rose stands up for the woman, and Darren is about to punch her when the Doctor shows up and tells Darren very firmly to leave Rose alone. When Rose and the Doctor get back to Mickey's apartment, they find he's not there, and there's a weird lemon scent in the air. The Doctor figures that the Quevvils took Mickey through a teleportation device and he resets it so Rose and the Doctor can find him.

    The Doctor and Rose take the TARDIS to the planet where the war is raging between the Quevvils and the Mantodeans. Rose gets hooked up as a carrier to actually go through the Mantodean stronghold, while the Doctor and a teenager called Robert sit in a room, the Doctor playing through Rose like a videogame and Robert as a hostage if the Doctor doesn't play. Robert, the Doctor, and Mickey (back on Earth work on getting the six other people out of the Mantodean stronghold, so they can go home.

Rose meets up with another carrier in the game and he gets eaten by a mantodean. Finally, Rose makes her way to the center of the stronghold, and the Quevvils ar

    atomised when they try to teleport in, but all the people the Doctor saved are zapped back into the room with them. The Doctor gets Rose out and he takes all the humans back to Earth.
