    Erwin Chargaff and his Rule
Erwin Chargaff (11 August 1905- 20 June 2002) proposed two rules that define DNA more suitable for genetic material than a protein. His 1st rule is that the nitrogen bonds must equal out each other. For Example there is always an equal amount of cytosine for guanine, and the same goes for adenine and thymine. His second rule is that DNA differs from one species to another, providing extra support that DNA is more suitable for genetic material. He also helped Watson and Crick with information

    Rosalind Franklin
Rosalind (25 July 1920- 16 April 1958) was best known for her findings on the x-ray diffraction images which would soon lead to Watson and Cricks "twisted ladder findings".
  • Watson and Crick

    Watson and Crick
James Watson(6 April 1928-...) and Francis Crick (8 June 1916- 28 July 2004) first discovered the structure of DNA (deoxiribo nucleic acid). By using found information by Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkins, the two could conclude that the structure of the DNA strand was in the shape of a ladder. But, the ladder was twisted to take up less space, therefore, it was known as the double helix,or "twisted ladder".
