    The president was announced for the university. An outrage sparked throughout the campus as they had been expecting the Deaf candidate to win, but the hearing candidate won instead.     Students drove to school early the following day to begin their protest. They even slashed tires of the school buses.

    On the fourth day, meetings were to be had by the university about the protesters. The hearing president who had been chosen showed up to begin her job early and was greeted with the organized chaos of the protesters.     On this day, one of the protesters appeared on ABC's 'Good Morning America'. It was a good publicity stunt as it alerted the rest of the country about what was going on at the university.Rallies were also being held all day.     When the campus found out that the hearing president Zinsler had resigned, they felt relieved and were very excited about what this would mean. The students were very serious about the correct president being chosen and even stated that they would stay on campus instead of going on spring break.     On Saturday, it was a day of rest for the protesters. But on Sunday, they Dr. I. King. Jordan was named the 8th president, the first Deaf President of the Gallaudet University!
