Triffid Discoveries
He first notices his triffid sometime during the year 1955 and sees the ones on TV walking, sparking an idea that he might have a walking plant in his backyard. While loosening the dirt around the roots to try and help it walk, he is stung.

After Bill gets a job working with triffids, one day he is working in the fields and he is stung by a triffid in the eyes, even through his mesh mask and is sent to the hospital.

The Beginning of the End
The "meteor" shower comes and blinds all viewers. -
Josella
After taking the bandages off his eyes, Bill finds his way downstairs and outside and saves a girl named Josella from being beaten by a man. She can see, and they find an apartment to stay in after getting some supplies. -
University
Bill and Josella find people at a University after seeing a light signal the night before when they stayed in an empty apartment. -
Captured
During the night, the group of people outside the University trap Bill, Josella, and others and take them away. He meets his captor, Coker. -
Trifffid Problems
The triffids have begun to herd the people into groups and then mass murder them. They have become more confident around humans and are not afraid to walk down streets. -

Plauge
A mysterious sickness spreads and kills rapidly. Michael Beadley's group moves to Tynsham and then Oxfordshire. Group has been split; one stays at the old place and one moves (with Beadley) to another place than they had originally gone. Group that stayed eventually fails. -

Bill goes to look for Josella and finds Coker. Coker has changed and joins Bill in his search. -

Tricked
The leader of the group that stayed at Tynsham needs help but won't admit it, and puropsefully gives BIll and Coker inaccurate directions to where the other group went off, and (Bill and Coker) travel to Beaminster. Josella also at this time fled to Sussex after hearing Bill's gunshot from the square and Coker sneaking around the corner, thinking it was another trap. She went to Sussex and then drove to Shirning where she is when Bill finds her. -

Sussex
Bill travels to Sussex, remembering that Josella mentioned going there, He meets a girl named Susan on the way who can see and takes her with him. Late into the night, he shines a light he found and sees a responding one. After driving towards it, he finds Josella and the people she found living in the house. -

The End of Tynsham
Bill travels back to Tynsham to find it empty. The plauge must have caught here, and he cannot find Coker. -

Years Later
Bill finds London almost completely empty, and has a son with Josella named David. During this time the Beadley group move to an island and Coker finds a house bordering a river. -

Torrence tries to get Bill and Josella to join their group but they escape and go to Beadley's island.
